Raising money for Yorkshire Air Ambulance

When the Grand Depart came to Yorkshire in 2014 we raised £2000 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance by making and selling yellow bikes for people to decorate their shops and homes, even though the race didn’t even come through Bedale.

With the race going right through the Market Place and taking a left at White Bear corner, Dave Allison and his team decided to produce new bikes – different shape and multi-coloured – to raise more money for the YAA.

We had a lot of help, Aspectcpm  provided a space for the team to work, Fall Timber supplyed plywood at cost and House and Home organised free paint from PPG Paints!

Production got in to full swing in March and the bikes went on sale on 27 March; 200 were sold at a frantic pace. They cost £15 and at least half will go to the YAA.

Many thanks to Dave Allison and Brian Booker for making this happen.  We’ll let you know how much has been raised for the Air Ambulance when we have cashed up.
